A full guide of Aveiro
Aveiro offers many opportunities what to do in free time. You will never be bored here! If you are lover of nature, you can make a picnic in one of various parks in town. One of the most beautiful is Parque Infante D. Pedro. These parks are not offering you just beautiful nature, but you can take a rest, listen to birds singing and do a workout there. If you prefer more movement you can choose Passadiços de Aveiro, where you can walk around river and
spend time in nature actively.
For city vibe, you can come to the centre where you can see typical boats of Aveiro – Moliceiros. Ride on these traditional boats gives you different perpective of seeing town. In the centre you can see many bridges with colourful ribbons of various meanings. You can also put ribbon on the bridge for memory. In the city centre, you have also option to ride the bikes for free – bugga bikes.
While visiting Aveiro, is needed to try local delicacy ovos moles. Ovos moles are traditional pastry made of egg yolks and sugar. Another typical thing is tripa. It is a pancake which you can fill with many flavours (for example nutella). In the evening, you should not miss watching sunset. You can do it from the beaches like Costa Nova or Praia de Barra. Costa Nova is famous for typical colorful houses with stripes. On Praia de Barra the is one of the tallest lighthouse in Portugal. Another nice spot for sunset can be the top of shopping centre Forum Aveiro.
You can finish you trip in some nighclub or bar. Most of them are situated on Praça do Peixe. Aveiro is a town with big university, so you will not get bored even during the week. Nightlife offers you clubs like Dokk, Santos, Sal and many others. There are also parties for students organised at university.
